My mom remembers that her cousin also had one done. It's so charming and unique...you can really SEE the subject in the portrait. Thanks for this information. skynycnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6282005678773288929.post-83360271916760254602010-08-30T16:11:36.679-07:002010-08-30T16:11:36.679-07:00I think you only need to be as careful as with ivo...I think you only need to be as careful as with ivory miniatures. Keep them out of direct heat or light. Most houses do not reach 100 degrees indoors. Provided they are covered with glass I do not see a problem. The glass would need to be quite warm to the touch, before it affected the wax.Don Sheltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01981381449429373197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6282005678773288929.post-65682112766096496812010-08-13T00:58:14.707-07:002010-08-13T00:58:14.707-07:00Are wax miniatures susceptible to melting/softenin...Are wax miniatures susceptible to melting/softening in the summer heat? I have asked this question of UK miniatures dealers regarding 18th century wax portraits. They have said it is a definite concern. May I ask your opinion? Temperatures of say 85-100 degrees during the summer months. Thank You, K.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
